Location: Chapelwood is located in a high commercially developed area on the west side of Indianapolis, on Girls School Road west of I-465 and north of 10th street. View map

Grades Served: Kindergarten – 6th Grade

Staff: 2 administrators, 45 teachers, and 20 support staff, including media specialist, physical education, art, music, family community liaison, teacher assistants/paraprofessionals, nurse, secretaries, cooks, custodian, and Cummins Counselors.

Facility:
Chapelwood Elementary School was originally constructed in 1963, with renovations completed in 1997 and 2007. In August 2007, a $7 million renovation project added four new classrooms and a new cafeteria, as well as technological improvements throughout the building. Chapelwood facilities include a media center, art, and music rooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, and technology lab.

The grade of I means that specific “intervention” is planned to assist the student in meeting the standards by the end of the grading period. When the grade of I is given, the teacher will list the intervention(s) to be used on the midterm report.
